Solitaire unblocked: play Solitaire online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

Solitaire is the card game most people learned long before they ever opened a browser: one deck, one player, and a layout you try to untangle until every card has been moved to its foundation pile. This version runs in the browser with nothing to install, and it is controlled entirely with the mouse or a finger, so a game can be started and abandoned in seconds.

It sits a little apart from the rest of Sand Tetris, where most pages are falling-block and sand-physics puzzles. The appeal is the same quiet kind, though. Nothing is timed by the game itself, nothing chases you down the screen, and the satisfaction comes from spotting a sequence three moves ahead. If you like the calm, think-then-place rhythm of Block Puzzle or Tetris, a hand of cards is a natural change of pace between rounds.

How to play

Click a card to pick it up, then click again where you want it to go. On touch screens, tap the card and tap the destination. Most builds of the game also give you an undo button and a hint button, so a misplaced card does not have to end the deal.

The general idea of Solitaire is to build the four foundation piles up in suit order, starting from the aces. To get there you work through the tableau, the columns of cards on the table, stacking them in descending order with alternating colours, and you turn over face-down cards as you uncover them. Cards you cannot place yet come from the stock pile. Because rule variants differ between versions, check how many cards the stock turns at a time in this one as you play your first deal.

Tips

  • Uncover face-down cards before anything else. A hidden card is a locked option, and the columns with the most of them are usually where a game is won or lost.
  • Do not rush cards up to the foundations. Leaving a low card in the tableau can keep a useful place to stack on.
  • Think before you empty a column. Only a king can fill the gap, so clear one when you have a king ready.
  • Use undo to test a line of play, then take it back if it leads nowhere. It is a good way to learn which choices matter.

If you want another relaxed puzzle without a clock, Block Puzzle and 11-11 ask you to fit pieces onto a grid and clear lines rather than sort cards. Tetra Blocks and Tetris 99 are faster and more reactive. Sandtris, the headline game here, adds a sand-physics twist to the block-clearing idea.

Solitaire suits short breaks, one-handed play on a phone, and anyone who wants a puzzle that never demands quick reflexes.
